The Peach Tree's Latest Album (June 2012)

There's no denying that Angus Maiden has delusions of grandeur. The Melbourne producer's music, with its shifting genres, complex ideas and non-radio-friendly sound, has invited both critical acclaim and harsh dismissal in droves. Working under the alias "The Peach Tree", Angus works on a conceptual album basis, threading together different streams of thought into lyrically cohesive yet stylistically disparate works.

With a fair following on the net gained through almost 20 EP and LP releases, its no surprise that the attention has gone to Angus' head, leaving him to think his place in the universe is more important than it actually is.

In reflection of this, his latest album is titled "Inverted Fall Into Delusional Rockstar Dementia". The album is a morass of sentimental poetry and twitchy songwriting that deals with the idea of being an internet celebrity in only the author's eyes, whilst often a joke in others'.

Delusions abound in Angus' psyche, and the idea that his music is somehow a landmark in history is one of them.

The words "rockstar" or "star" appear many times on this album, yet ironically it's a more humble effort than some of his previous works. By recognising the delusion and addressing it through the very medium that is its cause, The Peach Tree's latest album appeals to those who are constantly searching for more, constantly reaching higher: artists and listeners alike.

Distorted guitars, sweet melodies, thought-provoking lyrics, an off-kilter voice, sexy basslines, layers of electronically-tinged atmospheres, carefully programmed drums, and a coy sense of humour to wrap it up in all play a part in this 9-track journey.

"The World I See" by Silent Puppet

ComScore

The Silent Puppet is the Darker alter-ego of a very amiable, intelligent and thoughtful chap: Michail Drogosis, hailing from Greece.

In his own words,

"The album The World I See was created as an attempt to artistically examine the part of the subconscious where we have hidden our innermost negative feelings. It is an attempt to travel through it and feel it, rather than understand it, and uncover all that is hidden inside that place.

Pessimism, guilt, loneliness and alienation, are just a few of the feelings that emerge from the trip.
"

As fitting with Tribal Dancing Kid's ethos of "Strange Music Produced By Warped Minds" you could say that the character "The Silent Puppet" emerges from the shadows of Michail's mind to perform this Dark Phantasy Opera for our enjoyment. It is a character that is fucked up and definitely wArPEd. But the tapestry The Silent Puppet weaves through this album is pure magic to listen to.

Not least of all, because it was produced in 2006. Yet even today, almost 6 years later, it sounds so fresh yet twisted; and the themes are so current, as Dark Places are oft apt to be.

Michail has been away due to conscription in the army, but is back armed with an amazing new sense of style and direction for his new music, which I have had the awesome privelage of listening to.

I am hoping this album acts as a springboard towards more presence for The Silent Puppet on the web. Speaking of which, he has a blog that is quite delectable to read.

Hear the album on the player at the top of this post.

The main way this album is being distributed is through bit-torrent:

Nige

Nige is the rebirth of an artist I have already heralded on TDK as "A man so advanced in wisdom he has learned how to be a child again."

I am talking, of course, about the enigmatic, eclectic, eccentric artist formerly known as Titee.

It's been a long time since I last raved about the man behind a slue of amazing music, and so much has changed for both of us yet there is still so much common, familiar territory too. We have both been chipping away at our plot of land, gleaning what we can from the marble, until seemingly out of nowhere a veritable vein of gold is unearthed in the form of "30 minutes", which you can listen to on the player above and download for FREE.

Nige definitely fits Tribal Dancing Kid's ethos: a warped mind producing bizarre music. Behind each frenetic melody and pumping bassline is a sense of humour bordering on a Dali-esque seriousness. That is to say, it reflects a world that exists in his mind, where nothing should be taken too seriously.

Nige is fun. Nige is creative, inventive and talented. Nige is music. Nige is God (for we all are), and he is The Devil (for we all are). His beats will get you dancing, his skips will get you tripping.

I cannot recommend this album enough, a great debut for a new era in this wonderfully insane man's musical journey.

Nige. Because who wants to be normal anyway?

Presenting Titee - ChasTitee

I once wrote about Titee that "He is a man so advanced in wisdom that he has learned how to be a child again." - and upon listening to this album you will instantly know what I'm talking about. The frenetic melodies circle around your head like a murder of ravens in fugue, with an energy that seems boundless, and a certain sense of innocence that belies the complexities of his production.

Titee looks through the world with kaleidoscope eyes that sparkle with an inner fire that can only be compared to a new-born babe's fascination with everything around him. He truly knows that meaning of freedom and this is expressed in his music that knows no boundaries.

Smashing contemporary notions of electronic genre and style (trance this, that-step, whatever-core), Titee's music is truly genre-blurring and uncategorisable. Where should a beat go? What key do I use? Titee's music doesn't simply ignore these questions, it transcends them. The pace, timbre, timing and cadence of everything this man does with music comes from deep within the Ain Sof - the furthest, most unfathomable reaches of the mind that are at the same time at our fingertips all the time, if we merely look past the cages of reason and consciousness. Titee somehow has a natural affinity for this unreality within reality that he is able to express through music.

As head of Tribal Dancing Kid Productions I am extremely proud to present this album to you through my label. Me and Titee have discussed releasing an album for a long time now and it has finally happened. In releasing it for free throughout the internet we are making a kind of statement: this music is invaluable. Treasure it. Enjoy it. And please, share it. It is this sort of music that makes the underground such a fantastic place to dwell in. Be proud to be part of the underground music scene and support us little guys who want not money, fame or glory, but wish only for our voices to be heard.

Titee's brand new album is available now, completely FREE, from Bandcamp. Enjoy!

Remastered Peach Tree Albums - Still FREE

<a href="http://thepeachtree.bandcamp.com/album/a-darker-shade-of-tao">A Darker Shade Of Tao by The Peach Tree</a>

This is just one of many of the albums that can be found on The Peach Tree's Bandcamp page. The Peach Tree is the solo project of me, Angus, the owner of this tiny label.

I have been gradually remastering all of my albums and putting them up at Bandcamp, where they can be downloaded in ultra-high quality (FLAC, 320kbps MP3, OGG, etc). There at currently 8 albums up there, all 100% FREE under a Creative Commons License

I put a lot of hard work into my music, and this label was always designed mainly as a vehicle for my solo project The Peach Tree, but don't forget there are other artists under my wing who are dying to be heard.

Since we released Nezumi's brilliant album "The principle of relative constancy in metamorphoses" we have had zero sales. This is unfortunate as it is really good music, so deep and powerful, and something I am proud to be representing through Tribal Dancing Kid. Have a listen to the album below, and if you like it, consider paying the moderate fee of $4 for the download, or $7 for the gorgeously printed physical CD.

<a href="http://nezumi.bandcamp.com/album/the-principle-of-relative-constancy-in-metamorphoses">The principle of relative constancy in metamorphoses by Nezumi</a>

$4 is the price of a coffee, $7 a coffee and a bagel. If you can spare it you will be helping me and Nezumi out immensely. Don't forgot my own music is free, so also consider buying "The principle" if you generally like what I'm doing with music.

Watch this space, I am gonna be reving up the TDK Machine and going full throttle soon. Get in early and say you were a part of this from the beginning. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Launch!

<a href="http://thepeachtree.bandcamp.com/album/failure-playing-art-in-the-dress-rehearsal-for-the-apocalypse">Gravity Assisted Reincarnation (The Artist Looks Down On The Sea) by The Peach Tree</a>

<a href="http://nezumi.bandcamp.com/album/the-principle-of-relative-constancy-in-metamorphoses">Peaceful memory of what was lost by Nezumi</a>

Check it out, two releases whose album titles and track names are too big to fit in their players. Kinda like the concepts and ideas spilling out of my brain that spewed fourth The Peach Tree's 16th FREE Creative Commons release.

With the hefty title of "Failure playing Art in the dress rehearsal for The Apocalypse", this 12 track concept album deals with, well, shitloads of stuff. Already described as my best work yet - only a few days after I posted it - this album is sufficiently thought provoking and mindfucking enough to Launch The Label With!

This label was always gonna be an avenue to promote my own music, but there are two players up there ^^^^ and the other just happens to be for Tribal Dancing Kid's first signed artist, Nezumi, with his enigmatic, entrancing and absolutely otherworldly album "The principle of relative constancy in metamorphoses". Yet again, its sheer heftiness of brain candy is barely contained within the margins of this blog.

Nezumi is a Polish ambient sound-sculptor who, most probably intentionally, yet with the accidental accuracy of intuition, will open your third eye with his music. And you wouldn't be reading this post if you didn't totally dig that. I am proud to have Nezumi on board beside my solo project The Peach Tree as Tribal Dancing Kid Productions' first tentative steps into the world of The Unknown Future.

Nezumi's album, which you can listen to in the player above, can be downloaded from Bandcamp and is also available as an absolutely gorgeous printed physical CD, which you can order from the same location.

The Peach Tree's latest genre-blurring skullfeast is also available from Bandcamp yet since it's free it can also be legally bit-torrented with plenty of seeds, making for a fast download.

Nezumi's album comes with a small price tag and we all know: no one pays for music anymore but just in case you feel a hard working artist deserves a bit of dough or you want to be able to cherish forever his latest release in physical format, or perhaps want to help a fledgling label like this one stand on its own two feet, the lightening of your pockets will enrich the soil of my soul and make me feel that what I'm attempting here is worth it.

I'm attempting to give a voice to the strange. Please listen, lest these brave voices be drowned out by the hum of banality.

Both albums can be found at Last.FM too:

The Peach Tree - "Failure playing Art" @ Last.FM
Nezumi - "The Principle" @ Last.FM

I've let the Tribal Dancing Kid buzz slowly stew on a low simmer and I've just turned up the heat a notch. It's game on, and these are two releases you don't want to miss out on.

Don't forget to like the Facebook Page for Tribal Dancing Kid next time you're procrastinating, and here's To Infinity And Beyond!!!

Mission Satement

In today's world, where trends are set by the media, and what's "in" or "out" changes on a weekly basis, more and more people are looking to the outskirts, the different, the un-normal, to find where they click. Not as a need to identify with anything, but more on a spiritual level to find out who they really are, at the core. In this search they will naturally gravitate to things that are wild and unpredictable, setting them apart from the masses and grounding their individuality.

The strangest minds produce the most beautiful creations. Tribal Dancing Kid Productions is a record label with a focus on bizarre and unusual music by strange people, often produced through experiences with mental maladies. Beneath the warped mind, a whole world of creative potential is there waiting to be lapped up by fans who are bored by "Top-40 radio-fodder" and want something different.

On top of this, Tribal Dancing Kid intends not only to break through the cages of musical genre and style distinction, which only lock down creative potential, but also breach the gap in people's perception and awareness of the complexities of the human mind.

As a person who has undergone mental maladies and has now recovered, Angus Maiden, the brainchild of Tribal Dancing Kid, has started this label to both promote his own music, the content of which often deals with mental health, and to bring under the label's wing the many talented artists out there with an unusual and distorted perception of the world, who's voices are often unheard. There is a lot of stigma about the human mind and mental illness; the modern average person is completely uneducated about it and cannot sympathise with the torment caused by a warped brain. By acknowledging that there is a mental problem and that one should not be ashamed of it, but rather explore their "different-ness" as part of their unique individuality, great leaps can be made towards complete recovery. Music has immense power to not only help the creator find peace within their mind, but also to entertain the masses.

Tribal Dancing Kid Productions will offer an "un-normal" view of the world to those who accept it, and will bring sweet, uplifting, hyperactive, out-of-control and definitely AWOL music to its fans.
